In 1996 Hostel and rehabilitation centre was established in Bhopal with the help of organisation. In this
centre all the facilities related to their Food, shelter & education were provided free of cost to the rural
visually impaired children’s in the age group of 6-16 years.
40-50 Students are getting free education from 1st to 12th standard every year. 15-20 new visually
impaired students from rural area got admission every year. Along with Braille and Computer Education
they are also getting education on music from professional teachers.
Few of the students completed education up to PHD after completing education from hostel and they are
working in various administrative positions of private and government organisation.
Many students participated and won in various cultural and sports events at inter school and district
events.
In the Year 2007 with the help of Rajya Shiksha Kendra, Madhya Pradesh under” Sarva Shiksha
Abhiyaan” campaign was initiated for the educational initiatives for the specially abled Children.
This campaign was organised in 7 Development Blocks of Narsinghpur District under which
Team of Doctors checked and provided Handicapped Certificates to the 962 Children. Along with
this different supporting aids and appliances were distributed to 672 Children of different
handicapped categories.
Several aids and appliances like calipers, wheel chairs, supporting education material, folding
stick, hearing aid, Tri-Cycle and walker etc were distributed to the children.
Along with this 109 Jan Shikshak were specially trained to educate especially abled students.
Under this training programme teachers were trained with various education techniques
required for the specially abled children.
In the Narsinghpur district 16 teachers were trained on 10 days Braile workshop specially designed for
the fulfilment of the basic learning requirements of the children. This campaign and workshop was
organised and conducted in between March 2007 to April 2007.
NAB is providing guidance and help on Railway concession provided by government to the visually impaired persons along with carrier guidance to University Students.
NAB, Bhopal also provided supporting study material and guidance for their studies and employment.
In the last 10 years 400 students were benefited due to this initiative.
In the last 10 years regular medical & dental camps were organized. Under this camp Various health parameters of visually impaired students were checked regularly, and suitable medical treatment was provided and important medicines were distributed as and when required.
In the last 10 years 450 students were benefited due to this initiative.
In the year 2007, a Noble lady late Smt. Laxmi Bai Jaiswal donated a plot of 2000 Square feet for the hostel and rehabilitation center. In continuation to this, the Bisariya family (30-40 members) donated a huge amount for the construction of a new hostel with all the facilities for the students. This resulted into newly constructed NAB, Bhopal center at Bagmugaliya, Bhopal. This center has all the facilities like study rooms, living area, computer lab, playing garden, separate kitchen with modern facilities like automatic roti maker etc.
This Center is also having dedicated full-time teachers, staff, warden, driver along with a transport facility for the students. All these facilities are available and possible due to small and big contributions of people like us in every possible form.
In the year 2011 to 2015 NAB has established and operated Hostel and Rehabilitation center in the Narsighpur District of Madhya Pradesh for the visually & hearing impaired children under “Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan” program & initiative by Government.
In this initiative 40 visually and hearing-impaired students were benefited in Narsinghpur
In the year 2013-14 NAB established and operated similar Hostel and Rehabilitation center in the Hoshangabaad District of Madhya Pradesh for the visually & hearing impaired children under “Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan” program & initiative by Government.
In this initiative 28 visually and hearing impaired students were benefited in Hoshangabaad.
