our students are getting training for computer in our center, also they are having computers in there hostel also so that they will explore more creativity and imagination in their minds. students become more educated and skillful by using computers.
Computer technology has proved to be a boon to visually impaired persons. With the advent of text-to-speech technology, computers have become accessible to persons with vision impairment as well. With the help of voice output, a visually impaired person can easily work on Windows, MS Office, Internet etc. and can stay connected with the world. It sounds like an imagination, but it’s a reality
The organization has set up the Training Centre and runs a pioneering integrated education programme that prepares Visually impaired and low vision students for mainstream schools.The organization is striving to make every student independent in reading and writing independently using the computer technology.
The School follows the same syllabus as institutions for sighted children. It is only the method of instruction and mode of examination that varies with students writing their board exams with the help of scribes. Today it is the co-educational higher secondary school with well-equipped classrooms, computer labs, libraries and a playground. Donations made to this program support the cost of uniforms, shoes, braille material, and staff salaries.
We have mainly focused on technology based education like using smart classes. Students can record their lesson and retrieve it anytime anywhere . Now a days they are using smart phones as their learning aid.
It is helpful for them as they can utilize this vehicle for their regular health checkup and sometimes in case of medical emergency also it will be surely helpful for the children to get medical help immediately.
Over the years, as the recording hours increased with rise in demand for audio literature, the Centre started functioning in a more professional manner. Earlier the Centre records by Cassette Recorders and Compact Cassettes.The Centre has emerged as one of the sources of production and distribution of audio material for their children.
Today, the Centre where records books on CDs, in English and other Indian languages.This literature includes textbooks prescribed by various Education Boards and Universities and reference books recommended for professional courses and competitive examinations.
Center provides intensive training to develop skills in Activities of Daily Living which covers: Self-care (brushing, bathing, grooming, eating, etc.); Orientation & Mobility; Home Management (sweeping, making bed, identifying currency and so on); Communication (Braille reading and writing; social etiquette etc.
Confidence-building to lead a normal and productive life takes place through activities like physical training, participation in sporting and cultural activities, visits to public spaces, familiarization with public transport etc.
The center plays a vital role in helping visually challenged job-seekers find suitable employment, by working closely with the candidates and liaising with companies – both in public and private sector – to give the Visually impaired the opportunity to get into the work force.
The educated blind were employed as telephone operators and other such jobs.
